K, ive seen this on here somwhere, but I can't seem to find it in search, Id like to fix my oil tank so that it does't leak, or convert my boat to pre-mix, sorry for the repost!
Is it leaking in a seam or in one of the grommets? It is cheaper in the long run to replace a bad oil tank than running oil at a 40:1 ratio, as it will us more oil and you will still need a oil reserve tank for the rotary valve sump.
the leaks are from the grommets being 14 years old I think, they seem to not be as snug as they should be, should I just order new parts or is there a better fix? I swear ive seen it on here how to fix the exsisting tank
If it's just the grommets, just order and replace them. If the tank is fine, that should do. There isn't any way to keep the old rubber grommets from leaking oil, except replace them.
AND i think im going to use yamalube 2s, being that we dont have a dealer around here that sells the seado brand oil, my friend uses it in his and has no issues, HOPING that this is a ok decision... :/
Here is the recommended use of oil and fuel from seadoo. Your model should use synthetic or synthetic blend.
Use High quality low ASH API TC Injector oil.
Do Not use NMMA TC-W, TC-W2 or TC-W3 outboard motor oils or other ash less type 2 cycle oil. Avoid mixing different brands of API TC oil as resulting chemical reaction will cause severe engine damage. Never mix Mineral or synthetics oil together.
Never use fuel containing more than 10 % alcohol,( Methanol or Ethanol) as severe damage will occur. The minimum of 87 octane is recommended for most engines.
Look for quick silver PWC oil, it's a synthetic blend and is the correct spec for Seadoo.. I found it at a marina here in Florida, but Walmat also carries it; goes for about $25.00 per gallon..
