Does anyone know of a modification to elliminate the oil pump and put the oil right into the gas tank?

I had any oil pump failure which trashed an engine, I want to ellimnated this from happening again.

Thanks for your input.

Those oil pumps are very reliable so I'm curious as to what failed. It's more common for an oil line to become brittle or the oil line fitting to come loose. I would fix the oil injection. But if you do want to premix you should remove the oil pump drive shaft or drive gear depenging on model. You still need oil supply to rotary valve shaft so either leave that oil line and tank installed or loop the line with a T fitting and keep it full of oil. It does not use much oil.

I had an engine failure. When I took it apart the piston was scored bad, and it also looked like there was no lubrication as it was as dry as could be.

Is there a way to test the pump?

I am waiting for the new engine so I still have time to not go premix.

Absolutely, service manual has procedure. If it's pumping oil it's most likely good, just replace the old lines. The bench test involves using a reversable drill and measuring the output but all the specs are in service manual, I don't remember them.
