Oil pressure switch bypass.

Just wondering if anyone here knows if you can bypass the oil pressure switch.
My 2004 RXP has a new 2008 engine but retains the original wiring harness.
I have changed the oil, and check the filter for debris. Changed both front and rear oil switches and verified oil pressure. Yet, I still get the oil pressure code, the beeping and limp mode. I am to the point now where I would just like to bypass the stupid switch and monitor the oil pressure myself by a mounted gauge. I have come to realized through my problems and others, that the sensors on Seadoo are prone to faults.

Depends if the sensor is pressure opens the circuit or closes the circut when there is not enough pressure. Check it with an ohm meter. Then close or separate the circuit. (The wires at the sensor).
Better if you can look at the wire schematics.

I have the old switches that I removed and are the same part number as the updated new ones. I'll try to bench test these to verify closed or open and ohm values at different pressures first.
I hate to have to bypass them, but this oil switch issue on these engines are a nightmare. And apparently, I'm not alone.

FYI
The front switch (p/n: 256886) is normally closed, putting ref. signal to ground.
At 7.0 psi, the switch opens, removing ref. signal from ground.

The rear switch (p/n: 856538) is normally open, keeping signal from ground.
At 30 psi, the switch is closed, putting ref. signal to ground.

You also might want to check what pressure is at the sensor ports with a Manuel Gauge. Make sure there is nothing wrong.

I'm planning to mount an oil pressure gauge permanently, so I can see what my oil pressure is actually doing.
I think Sea Doo should have an oil pressure gauge in the display instead of just a warning light and beeper.
At least then you can see if your oil pressure is dropping before you lose it and your engine.
