oil outlet fitting

1994 seadoo sp. I broke off one of the oil outlet fittings, I was able to get the broken off piece out of the block but I need to re tap the hole. Does anyone know what size tap I will need to do this.

Yours has threads? As far as I know, just a piece of tubing coated in sealer (such as locktight red or epoxy) is driven into the hole?

no, this one is definitely threaded.

That's interesting. So anyway, the replacement fitting should have the threads you're looking for, might even be metric, I'd probably contact SBC engine builders b/c no doubt they have the nipple you need and probably can tell you the size.

Or take the piece you extracted to a local h/w and match it up assuming it's not too badly damaged.

If it's the lower one for the RV lines it's 1/4 NPT. Tapered threads.
