So i purchased a motor off ebay and thought that that the oil elbow below the rotary valve was missing. I took the one off the bad motor i had and went to install it in the new motor. Come to find out the nipple is actually broken off and the rest of it is still in there. See pics attached. Any idea on how to get the old broken piece out without drilling and leaving a million metal shavings in my crankcase? Can i remove the crankcase cover without disassembling the entire motor?? Get a large "easy out" and you should be just fine.

If you don't know what an easy out is, it's a tool used to remove broken screws in this type of situation. If this were a screw you would drill out the center of the screw, tap the easy out into the hole and spin the remaining part of the bolt out. Since this already has the hole you only need to spin it out.

Don't be stressed about it. This is an easy fix, maybe 1 minute once you get the right tool for the job. A set of them should not be much money and any car parts store or hardware store should carry them.

Yep, large easy out or internal pipe wrench.
