Oil injection question

I helped change a engine in a 97 seadoo gti. My question is since we had to remove all oil lines and new motor didn’t have oil injection on it, but we put it back on, what do we need to do before running it? I could see the oil going through the lines and coming back up the return line. The little lines I could not see. The return line I could see air bubbles coming up then stopping. We did start it for a couple seconds only but is there more I should be doing?

There is an oil bleed screw on the oil pump. Open it until clean oil comes out. Then at idle hold the oil pump lever wide open until all the air bubbles pump out of the little 3/32” lines.

Also make sure you only use API-TC oil, never TCW-3.

Thanks. I will do this. Gonna have to put new little lines on. They have paint all over them. Hopefully we can get to this fairly easy.

Mix some 40:1 for the first tank. It might foul the plugs, but it wont seize the engine while your pump is being primed

If it's a new rebuild, absolutely. With just changing hoses it's not necessary. Just bleed the lines and pump and hold the pump lever wide open at idle until the air is pumped out of the little lines. That really is all that is needed.

On the flip side it will not hurt anything or fowl plugs to add some premx if that makes you more comfortable but 50:1 is fine.
