I have 2 96 GTX's that I am thinking about converting to premix instead of oil injection. I would like to get personal opinions about the good and bad of both. I did this to my 96 spi years back and it seemed to work fine. Thanks

The Rotax motors are designed around the principle of variable rate oil injection. With the oil injection system, the plugs burn clean with no fouling and no smoke at low idle.
With premix, your burning oil at one rate. That rate is for wide open throttle so at idle, your burning way to much oil and will smoke badly and also, foul plugs. Although many run premix, I think it's not a good idea because of carbonizing internal components, leading to possible premature failure.
If you've got a problem with the injection system, then it might be your only way out for the moment but I wouldn't take a perfectly good injection system and disable it.......
