oil for late model non turbo 4 strokes?

I am sure Seadoo buys their oil in bulk and sells under their brand name.
What is the big secret and which oils can I use in my 2012 GTI SE ?
Not fond of driving an hour just to buy their branded oils. Are there oils off the shelf to replace the semi syn. oil

This is straight from my 2010 GTX 155Owners Manual....

Engine Oil
Recommended Engine Oil
Use XPS SYNTHETIC BLEND OIL (SUMMER GRADE) (P/N 293 600 121).
GTX 155 Model
If the recommended XPSTM engine oil is not available, use a 5W 40 or 10W 40 engine oil meeting the requirements for API service classification SM, SL or SJ. Always check the API service label certification on the oil container, it must contain at least one of the above standards.

I just put Mobil 1 10W40 synthetic in.

Thanks, will do next time. Just paid $100 for maint kit which seems like a lot for oil, filter and 3 plugs. ouch.
