Oil Filter Cap tabs will break and fall into PTO housing

To everyone out there with a 4tec, I suggest you do this the next time you service your seadoo's filter: break off the plastic tabs on the inside of your oil filter cap. They can otherwise break off and fall into your PTO cover. Recently I had the misfortune of having a paper towel get sucked into my PTO. When I was disassembling my motor and blowing out all the oil passages, this chunk of plastic came out of one of the major pasages.

I found another thread where a guy had the exact same thing happen to him.

I haven't had any of these tabs on my oil filter cap since I got my ski, and have had no leaks. I think everyone should break them off before they make their way into the PTO housing.

An even better solution is to replace the old style plastic cap with the newer aluminum one. They only used the plastic ones for 1 or 2 years before they went to the much improved aluminum one. The plastic ones are very difficult to remove compared to the aluminum ones which can easily be removed only using your finger tips.
