Hi All, First time changing the oil in my 2013 GTI SE 155. I watched just about every video out there, and thought I knew what to do, but may have hit a snag.

After replacing the filter and O-Rings, I tightened down the cap to the recommended torque (and frankly just about as tight as it can go.) I am seeing a gap, or maybe just the top O-Ring, between the cap and the housing. Is this normal? I didn't notice it before I did the work (but I sure wish I had looked closer... it's freaking me out!)

I basically just did exactly what this dude did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDqwGtY0R2I

but I want to be sure I didn't screw something up.

(Note: I took this thing apart and put it back about 3 times trying to see if something was stuck... it really looks like it should just work!?)

Please help! Can anyone confirm theirs looks like this???

If you placed the thinner o-ring at the top of the cap...the very slight gap is normal. Fire it up...if it leaks you know you did something wrong...heh.

OK, gave 'er a go, and nothing sputtering out as far as I can tell. Thanks for the feedback - knowing this is normal helps a lot. I just wish they would put detailed pictures in the manuals... oh wait, that would be so helpful that you wouldn't use their overpriced dealer service as much!

(I was dreading having to go into the shop with my tail between my legs... "uhhh, tried to do this myself, can you help?", "Sure, $200 please!")
