Oil change

There are only 2 oils on that ski....
1. The injector oil doesn't get changed unless someone is using the wrong oil (only API-TC Full Synthetic).
2. The balancer shaft oil should be changed every couple seasons.

You don't technically "change the oil" like in a 4-stroke.

If it is a fresh engine you have to verify that you are using the correct API-TC rated full synthetic oil.
You need to verify oil has been put in the balancer shaft cavity.

Whoever rebuilt the engine should have oiled the crankshaft and cylinders.

You can't premix a DI ski so you might want to set the oil pump a little more than the stock setting.

Amazon seadoo XPS E-Tec 2T in the black bottle with yellow text.

If you aren’t sure what oil you have you can’t mix them and need to drain the tank and refill and replace the oil filter.

If it’s red oil it’s the correct oil and you can just add the Seadoo oil.

What type of oil do I use for a 99 seadoo Gtx limited 951 engine? I want to make sure I'm using the right oil so I don't screw up the engine. I'm looking at buying one this weekend. Also what size spark plugs does it use? Thanks Joe Go

Any fully synthetic API-TC oil will work, such as XPS e tec 2t and amsoil interceptor. Your ski uses NGK BR8ES spark plugs

If it was me I would drip a few oz on the lower connecting rod bearings and down the holes in the cases for the crank bearings.

Not to be a jerk but I hope you are following the factory service manual to the T if you are doing a top-end.

And to add that very few 951's survive just a top-end on a used crank, especially a DI ski. Almost all of them throw a rod or balancer out the side of the cases shortly after.

Why are you doing a top-end on this particular ski? What happened and what is the history?

It is a good idea to replace the bearings and seals on the balancer also. You wouldn't be the first one to have a balancer blow out.

Not trying to make this complicated, I just don't want you to have issues with a fresh engine.
