I just picked up a used 96SPX for cheap. Diving into it, the MPEM was fried. I decided to go ahead and replace all electrical components. New MPEM, new Ignition coil(came with wires & caps), new Rectifier, new plugs, new solenoid, new starter & new stator. The battery is fairly new & holding 12 volts.
I do know the VTS module is fried and the trim does not work. I have all wires running to it disconnected.
when I try to start it, it cranks but no spark. I have checked continuity on all leads. Good ground to my block as well as inside the main electrical box.
I have checked continuity on all my switches. When I 1st power it up I get 2 beeps. The starter crank's, but no spark. I do get power with my test light to the Ignition coil ( black/redwire) but I'm not getting power to the plugs themselves. I have replaced the Ignition coil twice thinking perhaps I might have gotten a coil DOA.
Any suggestions????
