97 challenger will rev but will not go fast with full throttle.It will just chug along,the boat was in the only registred dealer in scotland where supposedly both carbs were cleaned with ultrasound and new parts fitted,

any ideas would be appreciated

Check the wear ring for too wide a clearance. Here is some information.Wear Ring clearance for your seadoo 1.0 mm or (.040in) Measure the clearance at the center of the impeller blades, with a 12” long gauge. Measure the clearance from the venturi side of the jet pump.

Thanx Karl, not had the time,just got back from Africa with work and had boat out at weekend,catching up on stuff just now.

The boat was going really well after spending £1300 on it then all of a sudden it just slowed down,no power,sound like the wear ring ? it looks a pain to change,just want to look at easy fixes first if possible.

If the wear ring goes bad from something in the jet pump, it will rev up high and not travel forward due to loss of jet pump pressure.

make sure there is no seaweed at the prop or shaft,
it happened to me this weekend, i had some plastic bag and seaweed around the shaft that goes to the prop.
