Hey folks have a 98 xp800 has a new starter battery And silinoid when I put the key on the post the oil light turns on for a sec and vts gauge goes up then back down... when I push the start/stop button I'm not getting any sort of life to the starter And no click at the solenoid any help on where to go next would be great thank!!

There isn’t a 98 XP 800. Last two digits of the vin is the year.

Without the lanyard if you push the start stop button do the gauges come on and stay on for about 30 seconds?

It is going to be hard to diagnose without a functioning beeper but it has me leaning towards a bad DESS post.

I would replace it as that’s also your overheat alarm. I buy them directly from Floyd Bell they are $21 but they charge $20 in shipping too so that sucks but they are oem.

Ok will look into that but first I'd like to get it running lol I just took the dess post out And found some terrible wiring job so it's been replaced by someone before
