No Bleeps

My bleeps have just stopped working. The Ski starts ok and is fully charged but when I put the lanyard on the post I can hear the two bleeps in the background but very very soft sounds like you can here a relay or something click but with no volume – any ideas as it sound like a speaker has gone walkabout !!!!!!! Apart from that all works and the red lights comes on and goes off as it should.

Beeper

Sounds like your beeper has gone bad. It is located in your bar pad that covers your handlebars. Sometimes they get a little water in them and then don't sound so loud. They can sometimes be cleaned out with a little low pressure compressed air and then left in the sun in order to dry it out.

Thanks Dennis, I've looked in my parts and service manual but not really sure where you mean. I think you mean under the padded area in the centre of the handle bar but not sure. Sorry for being thick but dont want to dismantle parts that dont require it.

Beeper

There is a upper and a lower cover ( plastic...not padded ) held together by 4 screws. The upper cover has the "MODE" and "SET" buttons in it. Remove the 4 screws and separate the covers in order to access the beeper. I don't think it is nec to totally remove covers to get beeper access.

radio shack

I just went through the same thing. With the help of others on the forum I found it, Then went to Radio Shack and got a 12 volt beeper for 7 dollars. works great..

Strange but mine have started working again. I got the tools out to take it apart and thought lets just check and bugger me it worked ok. Work that out !!!! and no it wasn’t damp, as the ski hasn’t been used for two weeks due to wind in the Bay.
