Hi all,

need some help im
In the market for a ski and have struck a deal on a 1997 seadoo xp. The vts doesn't work neither do any of the clocks however it seems to run fine on videos. I think electrical fault.
I'm going tomorrow the 9th to collect and il be doing a compression test etc.
can anybody shed any light on the above faults? Currently can't tell me the hours etc

1997 XP doesn't have a multi function gauge so no wat to check hours without a Candoo code reader.

The VTS is very common to go out and about $250 to fix. If the gauges don't work they typically have to be replaced.

Compression should be 150 for perfect and at 120 the engine needs to be rebuilt.

Mike my mistake. The clocks don't work is the sellers reply? Unsure if he means speed or all of them-any idea what that could be? but I'm going for a look anyway.

Where do I plug the code reader into to check hours is there a sticky anywhere? Thankyou

Update-the paddle sensor on the bottom of the ski for speed is reading nothing on a multi metre-when spun.
the vts module
Needs replacing-I've removed the motor and changed polarity to no avail.
I also this the fuel sender is goosed too. Baught a cracking jet ski
