I was out on my doo this morning going for a cruise while the water was calm and out of nowhere I got a terrible vibration. I stopped the ski and killed it and opened the seat up to take a look in the engine bay. I could not see where from but I heard and saw water coming into the engine bay.
I got it running again and headed to the closest shore, she drove fine at idle but once the RPM's went over 3K, the vibration was back. Once I got it on the shore I was able to play around in the engine bay to find the leak.
I found that where the drive shaft goes through the hull to the jet pump, water was coming through the rubber boot and out between the boot and the shaft. I'm mechanically handy but I am new to working on ski's. I took a ride to a mechanic who told me it was most likely a seal that gave out and he would not be able to service my ski for at least a week or two which blows.
I could use some experienced thoughts on exactly what gave out and how to go about repairing it.
