hi all just bought a 97 gtx and having plenty of fun on it, but i have a couple of issues, first being the ski is differcult to start and and there is a 2-3 second lagg from when i pull the throttle to it actually going. the person who serviced the ski and looked at the carbs first of all said the carbs were "hanging " inside and cleaned them (no parts were replaced) mentioned it could be the high speed jets, but they are seized in and missing the caps that only allow 1/4 turn adjustment anybody have any thoughts ? could these two faults be related ?

Check your service manual, The lows are one turn out, the highs are mag-0, pto-1/2, on that 787. Hard starting
usually is excessive rotary valve clearance. The manual has the directions for measureing the clearance. I think
re-machineing the RV cover is about 50 bucs (US) to bring back to spec.

Hard starting...esp when the machine is warm is usually due to bad needles and seats. If the adjusters are corroaded, I wonder what else is wrong with those carbs.
