I'm new to the forum and new to pwc. My son purchased a 96 XP and it's been a lot of fun so far. It's a little hard for me to balance and get on but when I do, it's time to hold on. My wife says I have 2 speeds, idle or no common sense! I'm planning on some maintenance this weekend. The ski runs great when first on the water but after a few minutes, it acts like it is starving from 3/4 to full throttle and the battery light is flashing. Fuel lines have been changed, cleaned the fuel filter. I'm going to clean the RAVE valves and the fuel selector and thinking on changing the rectifier to see if that helps. Planning on giving it 2-3 hours of my time and if that don't do it, I'm taking the boat and spend the rest of the day fishing!

Sounds like a solid plan of attack. Change that rectifier for sure. They are the greatest toys ever made.
