It's May of 2012 & i want to purchase a 1 yr old brand new model or a new 2012 model.

I like the RXT-IS 260 model as it has suspension and will be using it in rough waters along with salt water
as i live near the Gulf of Mexico. but have been hearing of some problems posted on this site with
members that own them. Does anyone on here own a 2011 RXT-IS 260?

Can anyone on here fill me in to what they think of this model I'm also 6'3 tall with long legs and need some room for my 35" length legs.

Thanks

I've ridden them...not for me. They sit too high outa the water for my taste....even in sport mode.

Much prefer the rxt-x 260.

Hi ktg:

I have a 2011 RXT iS 260. I purchased it in Feb. 2011 and it now has only 29 hours on it. I have had no problems except for a maintenance required indicator coming on my first time out last year and this year. The fault code indicates a problem in the D.E.S.S system which I believe I am causing by testing a spare key I have (which is actually for another model SeaDoo but was able to be programmed for my new SeaDoo). After my dealer cleared the fault at the 10 hour service I never saw it again all last season but after I tested the spare key before I went out for the first time this year I noticed the maintenance reminder was showing again when I got on the lake. The 260 still ran perfectly all the time I was out this week.
The suspension model is really neat and quite comfortable. If you feel comfortable sitting on it at the dealer you should be ok. Possibly you can get them to allow you to sit on one with the suspension raised. I do not find the craft to be easily tipped even with the suspension up. I only ride on lakes so riding in the Gulf will be a lot rougher though the suspension should smooth it out a bit.

Good luck.

Mark

Thanks Mark..I've decided to get the new 2012 Sea-Doo GTR 215..It's alot less money and runs at 65 mph..I have not gotten it
yet. Do you know anyone that has this model & how do they like it?

Thanks
Keith
