New Owner, Need Help

Hi Guys

My wife gave me a new 2004 Sportster 4 Tec for Christmas. We have owned a Polaris 750 before but never anything like a jet boat.

There are some items I would like to verify.

We are not new to toys. We presently have a Diesel Pusher motorhome, a classic Harley,a 76 VW Bus and I had to learn the ends and out of each one. With your help I am sure we will get a lot of enjoyment out of the boat. I just like to know what I have before we venture out.

First question:

There is a stainless steel rod attached to the rear of the boat. It goes thru a stainless horseshoe bracket and has prongs on the upper end. It is attached to the rear with what I will call vinyl straps. What is this for and what does it do?

This is a great site for a new owner.

post a pic - my nephew has this boat and i cant picture what it is - ideas but the straps are confusing me

After looking and taking the picture I think it may be a pull out swim step.

It's backed in the garage so the picture is kind of up close. see what you think.

What does your nephew think of his poat? Pro's and Con's

Has he had any trouble with it?

Yep, that's your boarding ladder. The straps keep it in the closed position while under way.
