Hello all.

Got this matching pair of GTI LEs on Tuesday. Gave them baths. Both of them start and run. One seems to need a starter, although it could perhaps be the button start/stop button Not sure.

My first question of maaaany to come is related to this liquid around the rear spark plug. I realized too late that it was not fully threaded so I don’t know if it is water or fuel/oil coming out of it.When I cranked it without the plugs, nothing came out. No steam/mist. Just“fuely” air. Is that normal, to have that liquid coming from there? I may try again later with the plugs fully seated but I wanted to ask as well. Lots of good info from what I’ve read.

I hope the picture is not gigantic. Apologies if it is. My first time trying this forum.

Yes, especially on a 2-stroke.

thank you for that! Gives me a little peace of mind there.

now I just need to get a solid starter and a choke cable and that one is ready for the water.

On the other one I need to replace the steering cable And should be basically ready to go. Thought (read HOPED) it was just lubrication on the handle bar but once I disconnected the cable itself, it moved freely and smoothly. Will still grease up with marine grade grease just for giggles since it’s already all apart.

Unrelated but “Super Clean” cleaner sprayed directly all over the inside of your hull and a simple rinse with the hose will make it look almost new inside.

super Clean. Will look it up. I was gonna spray simple green but if there’s something better forit, I’ll check it out. Thank you!

continuing with the project... received a used starter from Westside Powersports.. sadly it was dead.. waiting for a replacement to arrive soon.. the summer is coming to an end soon and I wanrt to at least take one of the skis to the lake!

Where do you guys find odds and ends? I am missing the washer that holds the handle bar grip in place, the one that is cut to fit in the slot, and is threaded, and holds the bolt?

I use PROCALIBER.COM if I am not in a hurry. And if I am in a hurry I use the part number acquired from their site to search Amazon, Ebay, Google. Procalibers OEM part search is pretty quick and easy to use.

the part you are looking for seems to be 277001863
