Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum but not new to Seadoo, I've owned a 1997 Seadoo Speedster Twin 85hp Rotax since 1998 and ooohh what ride we have been on!

From the east coast of North Carolina, Jordan Lake, White Lake, Elizabeth Town, NC. Lake Norman in Charlotte. I've been to so many places to count. There's was one place near the border of South Carolina that supposely had gators, yes I said gators in SC. Sounds strange but I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, sorry no pics I probably would have lost the camera from it flying out after doing one of those 180 in the ride!

Now after retiring from the US ARMY after 26 years and with my last 3 years in Germany we are living in San Diego, CA. Now I have more time on my hands to get my DOO on. I sure hated that when Uncle Sam delivered my Jetboat here in SoCal after 3 years in governement storage. The carbs had to be rebuilt to cost of $1800 for both and no they didn't reimburse me because they didn't issue me the Seadoo, lol!

I'm looking forward to sharing and interacting with those that share the same passion to get wet on the water and have some fun!

Again Hello everybody!

Welcome to the best Seadoo site out there! If there is anything I can help you with just let me know.

No offense taken!

Just remember like it or not everything here cost much more. I've lived in so many places from, VA., NC., TX., GA., Germany, Poland and a host of other countries, plus since I've been back in the U.S. I haven't had much time and I wish I could have done it myself.

One good thing came out of this was that the compression test concluded on both engines meant no rebuild, hell yea!

I even tried to use it as a tax deduction but you know how that goes, lol!

And living in the desert on many occassions I have built up some liquid, yea I also was expecting uncle sam to pick up the tab but that didn't happen.

After the rebuild I took her out and ripped up the lake so bad that the guy that worked there came out and said I was rocking the pier. I just went out further and still had a blast!
I've also plan on replacing those parts that are old or worn out when time permits. Here is Socal its usually one season so I will pace myself and not be in a rush. I have already replaced a torn cover, new battery. My next project with be to replaced all the Oil lines, does anyone know what diameter I should use? I've read about Tygon lines on the forum and I see Amazon sells them.

Thanks for the acknowledgement, it feels so good to be back in the U.S. even with everything negative in the White House.

Welcome! Congrats on making it to retirement! I spent several years in the Air Force much of them stationed in South Carolina (Sumter). There are gators as far north as Poinsett State Park which is almost the middle of the state!

I can't remember the name of the lake but the water was black and this was almost on the SC. border and everyone was saying there's gators in the water so be careful. What I like most about the Seadoo was the draft depth because I could get in those place most boat couldn't and I installed a keel safer for those time when there was a spot to push up on the shore or beach.

Nope I've been to Beufort, SC. a MCAS, Charleston and Columbia. But I've spent many years on Pope AFB and was in charge of the ADACG. I had a friend that was a CCT(Combat Control Team) but he died checking one of the the FLS (Forward Landing Strip) on Camp Mackall DZ in a HUMMVEE.

I also hit ATL on a couple occasion and man I couldn't get past the humid weather in the summers and the cold in the winter. The worst was the cops that perch on top of the over passes shooting the radar gun as you past underneath on the 95 I think, it's been awhile for me.

Andrewterri,

Thanks for the welcome back!

So how does a former Marine like yourself end up in OK, usually you guys are stationed at Lejeune, in NC., Pendleton, in CA. Twenty nine Palms, or Okinawa?

Wait a minute most Army bases are in the middle of no where that Warrior's Cry does get very low, So are you close to Lawton which is right out side of Fort Sill. I was there a couple of weeks and there's nothing but farmers fields there.
