Just got this ski last year and am looking forward to putting lots of hours on it. Its a 1996 GSX. It has alot of things done to it, but I'm not sure what is all there. I know it has a full rossier exhaust, water injection, beach house sponsers, and a billet finger throtle. I have a feeling that it has some head work done to it, and maybe even bored out. Looking to do a little work to it this spring to get it running really good at it sat in a warehouse for about 5 years before I got it. I ride in lakes in northern Indiana. Let me know if anybody is up this way and maybe we can get together and ride.

Welcome to the forum, I to have 96 GSX that I purchased last year and am going to use it for the first time next week. This is a great place where you get some great advice:cheers:

Must be nice. My ski is still in storage and will probably stay there for a few months even though I would like to get it out and start doing some work on it. One question for you b15philly, on your seat is there like a round hole on the back of the seat with a gasket about 6 inches in dia. if so what does the seal on. I think my ski might be missing something. also pictures if you could.

Thanks

Just bought a 97 GSX. Also, looking forward to putting a lot of hours on it. We also bought 1999 GTX, paid $3700.00 for both of them. The trailer needs a ton of work but we think we got a heck of a deal. They both fire up as soon as you hit the start button, and in great shape will post some pics.

welcome to forum, gtxman...wat up with trailer, post ?'s if need be, to get that rok'n. Cool to have different style thread (trailer).

The trailer has a ton of surface rust. No tail lights, light bar liscense plate holder , or wenches. I bought $305.00 worth of stuff to tidy it up. I will post some pics of both of the skis and the trailer. It's not a pretty site.

Hey 96ROSSIERGSX im not sure what you are talking about. Is the hole your talking about under the seat ware it meets the pin to connect the seat to the body or is it something else?

Here is the vent under the seat

And this is the tube in the engine compartment

I always assumed it was some sort of a vent?

gsxgtxman that is the one Im talking about. are there any hoses that run from that to anything? mine is missing that and I think that is why when I flipped it, the hull filled up with water.

I also just tried to budge that knob with a plumbers wrench. I got it to move but it sounded like it has been destroyed by salt that was probably sitting in their rotting it away:ack: Is this a vital part or can I live with out it?

What knob are you talking about?

Ya its solid plastic all around with a tube that goes about a foot deep into the compartment the inside is like a type of foam that looks like a egg crate as you can see in the picture.

Hmmm, that really makes me wonder what it is there for then. I guess I will call a few places tomorrow and see if I can find anything out.

philly you should really look into replacing those grey fuel lines. check out the other forums and some pics of those nasty grey fuel line. they cake up in the inside and will cause your engine to lose performance. just letting you know i have a 96 gsx too i replaced my lines.

Ya I don't know why I have been putting it off I have been told that I should buy 1/4 inch fuel lines and a few s.s. clamps to do the job? Also are their any filters inside of these fuel lines, if so can they just be cleaned out or do they have to be replaced. I am some what mechanically inclined how hard of a task is this?
