New Engine Installition

I have a 1994 sea doo xp. I think that my engine has finally gone bad. It made a loud knocking noise, lost power, and shut off. The engine was very hot, and once cooled would not turn over to restart.

I have never tried to install, or rebuild any engine. I have been quoted for a partial rebuild at $1,500 and a full rebuild at $3000. Is this something that I could do myself, and if so, how could I generate more horse power out of it???

I would buy a remanufactured engine before spending 3K on a rebuilt. That seems a little high to me, OK that sounds allot high to me.

Go to SBT they have pretty good remanufactured engines..
Should be around $800.00 for your ski... Of course thats not installed...

Thanks....... Yeah a friend told me about SBT over the weekend, and what I saw, seems like the way to go. Thanks for the help......
