My 96 sp has been stalling after riding it for a few minutes. It ran perfectly on the old gas after I brought it home from the buyer who let it sit for two years. I ran the tank dry and put new 89 octane gas in it. It now will sound a long beep and then stall. After an hour or so I can just get it to start after trying for a few minutes. It runs perfectly fine on the lift but in the water it won't stay at idle speed without stalling. When I punch it it takes off and then sounds the alarm and stalls again. What is this beep? The manual gives me several "suggestions". I'm new to this thing at it is already getting on my nerves.

Sounds like a cold seizure. Update the oil & gas delivery and rebuild the carb. Do NOT
ride until fixed. A cooling line & nipple clean-up & restrictor drill-out is advised. Do a compression test (throttle open) and post results. Bills86e
