We bought a used 2006 Seadoo challenger 180. Ran like a champ, still does! Only thing is that I had 1 long beep and the check engine light stays on (constant, not blinking). No other lights, boats runs like normal still. Pushed the stop button, pulled the cap off, and restarted. Boat ran like normal, after 2 min it all happened again. Docked the boat for about an hour, then tried again, ran it for 15 min until it happened again.
2 things to keep in mind:
• I don’t know if it matters at all, but the lanyard that attaches to the cap was very worn. We cut the lanyard off and tied the cap to a cheap Walmart bungee strap. Didn’t mess with the cap at all, just the lanyard.
•we did accidentally leave the switch on for about an hour and a half while docked. Not sure if the battery would have drained enough to cause the engine light. Previous owner said he always kept an inboard battery charger on it because he liked to anchor out and listen to music while swimming.
Any help or advise is appreciated. Thanks!
