Need Help!

I have a 1997 SeaDoo XP that I just acquired. The man said all it needed was a steering locking nut. I bought the nut, went to install it and the cable pulls through the hull. I’ve attached photos of what my situation is looking like. Something is missing inside the hull to keep the cable from pulling through. Also I believe I’m missing o rings and half rings I believe

The online parts diagram will show you all the parts needed. You are also missing the small boot that seals the inner cable to the outer jacket.
 
Ok well the cable goes through the hull. Then a rubber O ring like gasket goes on from the back and after that gets squished into that hole the cable came through there is a 2 peice clamshell that goes onto the cable and you then put that nut on the end of it. Your missing those two peices by the sounds of it.
