1995 seadoo sportster, riding today and the positive battery cable came loose. Boat quit running... connected battery cable and the inboard fan and the bilge pump worked! Great....however, I cannot get the motor to start.
I have juice for the fan and bilge? Why doesn't the motor turn over??

Charge your battery, make sure it is disconected from the boat before hooking up charger (remove both positive and negative leads)or you can damage the electronics

battery is fully charged. I have 12.7 volts to the starter solenoid: however, when I turn on the key and press the starter, I do not have voltage to the other side of the starter solenoid to engage the starter.

Try cleaning your ground and positive cable ends, if that does not work it sounds like either the start/stop switch or solenoid is not working.

I can jump the solenoid with a pliers and make the motor turn over: however, it does not start....it is just weird to me that by the positive cable coming loose the soleniod has now gone out!

yes....what I need is an electrical diagram to see where I am loosing voltage..any ideas where I can find one?

there is one fuse in the electrical box that is blown...I cannot remember what it is labeled....however, it blows immediately when I put in a new fuse. why does it blow out and what should that have to do with the positive cable coming loose?...I think I am missing something!!!

why would you try a bigger amp fuse, than what was in there. Now you just "smoked" a $1000 dollar part....:banghead:

PM "All Things Custom" on this site, he may be able to save the mpem.
