I need some help Please! I own a 96 Challenger 787. i bought it at sea level and i live at about 6000ft. Last summer i only got to try and take it out once. and durring that one time i managed to strip off both of the low adjustment screws. Once i got home and got the carbs off i found that they were so gummed up that nothing could turn or adjust. i took the easy way out. and bought some clean used ones off the internet (they also came from about sea level).
As you can probably guess im getting way too much fuel. i went to the only shop in town and they told me that i needed to drop my main jets 8%. so they sold me a 135.5 for my front carb and a 131.5 for the rear one. I took it out today to try and tune it and it runs real smooth (unlike befor) but it still doesnt rev above 4500 rpm in water. It doesnt misfire or hesitate it just feels like its not opening up al the way but it is. I dont exactly have the know how or the ear to tune the carbs. But if i can get some good advice i should get it close. so if any one can help me out that would be great. thanks.
