I am a first time PWC owner and recently purchased a clean 2003 XP DI with 53 hrs. I thought I got a good deal but after talking to some people and my local dealer I'm hearing that I should've stayed away for the 03 DI model. I am still looking to buy a second Seadoo for my wife and I just came across a deal on a set of 99 XP limiteds with double trailer. After hearing all the negative stuff on the 03 DI models im now considering getting rid of the one I just bought and picking up the 99 XP's. My question is this? Is the 03 XP gonna turn' into a money pit for me as far as repairs? What exactly are the issues that year has? Are the 99 XP's any better than the DI models? I know the fuel injection systems can be costly to diagnose when they have issues but what else are the major negatives on the DI's. Any input is greatly appreciated!

DI models are great when they are running properly but they are a MONEY PIT to fix...personally i would never buy one. As far as the XP's go you have just as much risk there if they are limiteds since they will have the 951 in them and the 951 is known for top ends...too much power for itself and it eats itself over time....If you want a good ski look for the same syle xp 97 or so and get 2 with thr 787 in them and they will last you a long time
