Hi, my 99 GTXLtd 951 suffered from the surge/hesitation at WOT, it only did 44 mph but started up and idled fine. So, I replaced all the grey fuel hoses, selector valve and filters and I rebuilt the carb with new diaprahms and float needles.

Now it wont start because it is flooding the carbs. I take out the spark plugs and find they are soaked with fuel, I can see fuel shooting up out of the heads when I turn it over at closed throttle.

Did I mess up the float needle settings when I bent the pivot arms upward a little bit?

Thanks, Bob

Yup......re-set it, flush with carb body. Did you replace the spring, as well? if so, re-install the oem one.

Yeah, I used the original springs.

Ok, I will pull the carbs off again and re-set the float needle pivot arm to be flush with the carb body.

When bending the pivot arm...if I am off by a little bit will it have detrimental effects, like too little fuel or too much fuel?

Does anyone have any pics of the float needle pivot arm properly set?

Than you, Bob
