Make a deal with the shop that if it's NOT that part and they replace it, they can put the original back in and you don't have to pay for the part....you MIGHT have to pay for the labor, but sometimes the only way to know is to swap out the suspect part and try it. We had an older Honda Accord that was having transmission problems. The service tech THOUGHT it was the transmission computer gone bad, and to replace it was well over a grand for the computer. So we had to swap it for a used one to see if it was in fact the module. Turns out it was, but I was able to fix our original with about $5.00 worth of parts from Radio Shack and a soldering iron, after I did a little research online.
