Others have a much tougher off-season than I though, making payments on a boat they can't use 6 months of the year!

I wonder if Rod wants to race flat heads, mine's a '49 but isnt' bored 0.25 and doesn't have the Lincoln stroker crank (yet).

I kid you not when I went to but my Aquatrax Turbo brand new I had a dealer in Marina del Rey tell me they add a 1500 dollar "no winter" tax!!!! I told him to blow me and left but I was stunned at the nerve of these guys

Fortunate you, that's pretty far out there. Lucky they didn't charge you a toxic waste disposal tax in anticipation of the eventual need to crush and dispose of it at end of life.

Yep, during winter several mountain passes are closed to traffic due to snow, so if you don't own snow skis or a snowmobile you can go water skiing or to the beach instead.

"There are over 120 peaks in the Sierra Nevada over 13,000 ft (3,962 meters), including the highest peak in the contiguous United States (Mt. Whitney, 14,494 ft.). The vast majority of these high peaks are located in southern part of the range. Only three peaks over 13,000 feet occur as far north as Yosemite National Park, in the central part of the Sierra Nevada (see a profile of the Sierra crest)."

OK since this thread is completely derailed anyway... You are really making me feel bad now.

As David knows, I grew up in SoCal, went to Santa Monica High. I am a 3rd generation nativie Californian. I grew up backpacking in the Sierras, climbed Mount Whitney, and camped in Yosemite. I then moved to desert toys and raced in all the southern deserts and Baja in two stroke mini-buggies based on Honda Odysseys and Pilots (not the minivan and SUV). Also raced stadiums with the Mickey Thompson off road series all over the US. (I tought Jimmy Johnson how to pass people)(Me). Been in NC for almost 20 years. Just got my first skis this year. Just took them out last weekend and then started the dreaded "winterization". And now today it is 83. But will be cold here soon. I don't miss SoCal at all for the congestion and politics. But I REALLY miss the mountains and desert. I would love to spend a couple of weeks with you guys out there.

Derailed but fun!! Dude I had no Idea you had such a interesting and cool race history! Well done!
We must have a beer at some point.
Thinking of heading to Nevada in the near future for some winter seadoo fun with the family, meet us there.

Lol I know how that is I had my spx in my garage for almost 2 years before I finally got it running. I did have 2 other running Seadoos tho so its not like I didn't get to ride....

Exactly. If we weren't busy water skiing in 2~3ft water just below Parker dam we could hike the Redwoods. I was content remembering our annual snow ski trips to Big Bear while sitting on the beach contemplating our next big adventure.

As Bob Dylan summarized, "Everybody Must Get Stoned"

O I know below parker real well I have a place on the river about 18miles north of Blythe that's where my skis live :-)

Is there a place close by to park my rig? I'm heading just that direction in the next few weeks to go play with the toys, meet us out there!

Depends on what you like in parker there's more people and places to eat and what not. down by Blythe there's not a lot of people at all and no where practically to eat lol

No I've Ben through there 50 times just wondering about seadoo's and the river? Are there spots to beach and hang out with the wife and kids? It's not just me I have to be sure I keep my flock happy!!
