Wait, you're saying you can't turn it by hand with the plugs out? That Def sounds like a problem to me. Should turn freely all day long. And no, I meant pull the plugs out, plug the boots on, ground their bodies somehow and crank it with starter. But I would be more worried about the fact that it's not rotating freely.

Took rotary valve cover off, still hard to turn feels like its about to seize.

If it's not the jet pump than I guess it needs to come apart.

got it apart. She melted the keyway and it took chunks out of the crank and flywheel and the magneto housing cover, all need replaced. Too bad cause I had it figured out and tuned perfect the day before!
