I have a 1991 Seadoo XP as well as a GT. My grandkids love them and they are just right for them at their age.
The XP was not properly winterized fuel wise last fall and will not run past 2500 rpm in the water. The gas in the tank was but the engine was backfiring while spraying gas into the carb intake. So I stopped running it. The backfiring was from too rich a mixture from spraying the gas into the intake. It will rev up fine on the trailer. Once unloaded and driving around it will not rev past 2500. The mechs have tried cleaning the carbs on the machine and just yesterday found all crusty white stuff on the fuel pump bellows. Engine started easily ran great put it in the lake would not rev past 2500.
What are we missing? This is the third time to the lake thinking we had found the culprit, only to head back to the shop.
The GT which was winterized at the same tim runs fine. At our wits end.
