I hooked up a meter to the battery terminals today while both engines were idling. It only registered 12.8 volts. Compared to a normal automotive charging system this is low. Is this a problem?

What voltage whould I expect to see here at idle?

This is my first jet boat and I'm still finding my way round it!

For full specs John, you could get a manual in the "Premium Section". Your seadoo will get 12.4+- at rest and should produce up to 14.8+- at appx 5000 rpm.s for charging the battery. Per seadoo specs. I check mine at above idle and it produces the max amount as it should...Jet boats aren't anything like cars...

Thanks Karl.

I checked the voltage first with one engine running, then with both. I guess that means that the problem would be with some common component.

I've got the shop manual, but couldn't find the output voltage!

I'll try it again and give it some revs. I tested this is in water so it was only idling at about 1500rpm.
