Anyone know a machine shop in the valley that will look at a 787 oem head and make sure it is trued and possibly mill it? Thanks!

posted elsewhere...

You can hit up Steve at Action Power Sports in Chander, Jetski Unlimited in the North Valley, and now Kommander Ind. which I am not sure where they are located.

Steve is redoing my engine on the 3d now... I was at his shop a few days ago, I was impressed with APS

Machine shops

Thanks for the names guys. I will be reaching out to them soon. Do any of them do there own machine work or do they send it out? Even if they send it out I can always try and get the name of the shop from them.

deck the head

Spoke to Steve at APS. Said he would do the head for like $85.00. that’s sounds good. He does his own work and said he could turn it around in a day. Said he could also pop off test my carbs and adjust if needed for $100.00. that sounds a little steep. I may try this myself, but will have to get a pop off gauge. The carbs are brand new with three hours on them so a rebuild is not needed, I am just using prok arresters and wanted to see what the pop off pressure was. Timmyboy mentioned it should be lower since the manifold pressure is decreased. I was thinking of going 100% modless but a little compression and some air fuel goes a long way.

I think I will put it back together this time with the stock head, stock pipe, stock rave vales, but leave the arrestors on it since I have the jets in already. Oh ya, Anyone reading a post by me talking about compression readings on the new top end.. I made a major new guy f up. I tested with throttle closed. :stupid:

I know he does not do is own machine work and i was hoping to talk to the machine shop itself. No big deal as I decided to leave as is for now anyway. Thansk !!!
