i bought a spx and i knew lower end was toast so my question is will any 787 crank case work ? i noticed on parts list that there are different numbers for lower end parts for different years. i figured im gonna hard time finding a lower end that matches. sbt wants a uncracked block and im not paying the price they want for sending them my bock. are there any successful lower end rebuilds out there? the counter balance is shot and the drive shaft gear going to counter balance is shot as well. any advice would work. i noticed a lower end that has the oil screw to maintain counter balance shaft and would love to use that but dont know if it will work

Yes, any 787 will work. The non oil fill cases are early 787. If you want it to look correct then get a set of cases with the big serial number tag. Again, any 787 case will work. You can rebuild the counter balance shaft, or have it done. I would get an OEM reman crank, not much more than other rebuilt cranks.

There's a mark on the cb gear and the crank gear for alignment.

Yes I'm positive. Even a 787 rfi (rotax fuel injection) case will work.

The rv timing is easy, you need a degree wheel, you can Google and print one for a seadoo, or buy a real one that's plastic.

You need the service manual before you get any further.
