Can someone explain how the gravity feed works on the oil level for the bottom end of the Seadoo Jet Skis (SPX/SPI) ? My cousin and I have had some discussion and his engine is, what he describes as, filling up with oil. He has a point in saying that the oil tank is higher than the sump. So what stops the motor from filling up? Also.... does crankcase pressure help maintain the oil level by pushing the oil out of the upper level oil line? Does the oil level when the ski is sitting... rise a bit. Inquiring minds wanna know. LOL We had an interesting discussion.

It’s just an oil bath for the rotary valve not the crank bearings. Gravity fills the chamber with it being lower than the tank. The oil doesn’t circulate and is sealed by the inner crank seals and rotary shaft seal.
