i pulled the pump and noticed that the shaft dropped down an inch or 2. i had to replace the wear ring. once i replaced the ring i had to have someone below the ski push the shaft up a bit to get the pump back on. it ran find. looking at the design of the shaft and the output sleave i dont see how i could have that much play and have it still run ok. i still get full 47mph out of it but it seems to cavitate a little when trying to wheelie. but that could be the impeller. i can send someone a video if that would help. anything would be helpful as i dont want to rip anything apart i dont need to

I pulled a pump for the first time and thought: "Shouldn't I have propped up the shaft through the grating so as not to let it fall while sliding off the pump?" Have yet to mess with a PTO, so I don't know exactly what is holding the shaft up(insert joke here). But the torque from this long heavy shaft falling a couple inches can't be good! No one I've seen on Youtube has advised anything.
