I'm going on like 2 weeks without being able to make it to the lake. At some point in time should I hook it up to the house and fire it up if it might be another week or two? Or am I fine going 3 weeks without cranking the ski?

If it’s just a few weeks during the summer… you should be fine. BUT… if you know you aren’t going to get out for a while still… I would make sure that the engine compartment is dry (take the seat off) and fog the engine with some oil. You don’t need the hose… just fire it up, and spray, then shut it down. That will keep the crank bearings from getting any rust on them.

If I can get this fogging thing down, I can winterize myself. And then take it to the dealer for an oil change / summerization at the end of winter, though in central AL winter is a subjective term.

I'm not the most mechanically inclined, though I'm trying to fix that because I want to be able to do some of the basic things on my own on the ski. What about just running some of that red bottle marvel mystery oil in every tank of gas. Doesn't that help lubricate everywhere that the oil doesn't get to?
