light clicking sound

Crazy question...first off engine runs fine.. replaced plugs and fuel/water sep.. prev owner hasnt in two yrs. Now that ive down that its running smoother and quieter. But now i hear a light clicking noise at idle. fades away with acceleration. Any ideas? merc 240 efi m2

Are you sure it's the engine? Is the boring ladder rattling?

Thanks for quick response..went out and fired it up..sounds appears to be coming from a piece connected to a fuel line, after shaking it alittle. has the number SEA J1171 does that help..

Could it be the fuel pump or the piece with it? is it something to be concerned with?

Is it possible the light clicking may be coming from the fly wheel? only hear it at idle..if it is,is it harmful to engine?

Well... that sticker is on the starter, and the electric fuel pump. Which one is it?

The noise could be nothing... or it could be very bad. Did this noise just start?

fuel pump..only noticed when i put new plugs and fuel/water filter, because its smoother and seems alot more responsive
