I had sold my boat, the guys was comming today to get it, then when everything is ready and I try to start the left engine, nothing happens. Right engine does start and run. I tried to swap the start switch, still no start from left engine. Checked the fuses on MPEM and near the battery, they're all good.

When I push the start button i do hear a click comming from the MPEM but no start. Then a few seconds later i hear another click from the mpem.

Please, tell me I don't need to blow 1500$ for a new MPEM!!!

Wires on the starter looks good and not corroded. Is there another selenoid or something that would do this? I need this boat fixed for next sunday because the guy still wants to buy it because it's very clean.

When i plug the landyard, i do get the 2 beeps

if i leave landyard with no engine running for a long time and I try to start, it does make a loud BEEEEEEEP (like it always did) So the MPEM do receive a signal from the start button.

If i remove the landyard and put it back, same problem, right starts on the touch, nothing for the left.

tried to unplug and replug the connections, nothing.

Have you messed with the battery switch at all? When I was first adding my audio system, I had disconnected the battery switch. When I put the wires back on, I somehow left one big red cable off. It sits back in there far enough that I never saw it. Next time out, the left engine wouldnt start. It did exactly what you describe. I thought the stater solenoid was bad. got home and found no power to the solenoid. After taking the switch back out I figured it out. There is a power wire to each starter solenoid from the battery switch. If you know thats all good, use a voltmeter or test light to make sure there is power to the solenoid. Try jumping the posts on it with something and let us know if it cranks at all.

Just to make it easier for you. The starter solenoid is in this box:

finally it was a bad solenoid!! my frien had one in stock. boat runs again and i'm going to deliver it to buyer tomorrow morning.

BIG release on my mind
