Well, the season is here!!!!! .... Lets all have fun in the Mardi Gras spirit!

I took my kids downtown today and we racked up with the beads, moon pies, and stuffed animals.

We're going back tonight and through fat Tuesday.

Mardi Gras originated in Mobile and is related to the Catholics. Its origins came to allow feasting and acting out wildly before the somber days of Lent.

Mardi Gras actually originated in Mobile, AL. in 1703 with the formation of the Cowbellion de Rakin Society. In 1703, it was first celebrated by the French settlers at the original site of Mobile, which was actually north of it's present location.

Many people around the U.S. believe Mardi Gras started in New Orleans. I think this is because of New Orleans ties to the French and the fact it's one of the largest cities of the United States.

I'm going to attach a couple pix of us downtown today during the Mystic of Angels parade. In the pix with the girls, the child in the middle is a friend of my daughters who came along for the ride........

Happy Mardi Gras ya'll and hey, ..... "Let the Good Times Roll!!!!"....

Updated... I updated with a few more parades we had this evening. The kids really racked up on all the good stuff. This year, they even had a mint moonpie that was more like a giant Girl Scout mint cookie.

Work.....

Yeah, I'm at work......LOL... But, I got my Aspen screen up to so if anyone walks in, I can just minimize really quick. I also have my start menu bar off so that can't see what I'm doing.

I was actually using my cell phone. The phone has a 2.0mp. But, I think the blurr was all the lights, the fast moving floats and all the hooping and hollering going on.....it was a real blast.

I have to work on Fat Tuesday, or Lundy Gras as it's commonly referred to. I did get to see the 20 widows of Joe Cain. We all walked in the parade to Church street cemetary to visist his grave. And just like every year before, the 20 widows were bickering and arguing on who was his favorite wife.

The Church street cemetary is the original cemetary in Mobile. That place has graves that date back into the early 1700's..........

Oh, I got to get back to work................

California....

Yeah, it is. But I see your in California. That means you get to have fun year round. We can only drink and party on the streets once a year....
