:rant:How do you keep the tow rope out the the impeller, have done this once last year & again this year, yes I know i need to pay more attenion to where the rope is before starting engine, but it seems that it will suck up anything quickly!! rope, weeds, etc any better grates , thought of putting a screen over the grate not sure if this effect peformance?

are you real?

:reddevil:if you put a screen over the grate you wont affect performance becouse you wont be performing anything !
your boat wont move.:reddevil:
haveing a second person in the boat looking after the rope and makeing sure anyone on the end of that rope is safe is a must do!.
its responsable boating there must be a spotter on your boat when your towing!
secondly get a wake tower the rope is a lot easyer to see when its above your head and tends to be easyer to avoid.

slide 2 sections of swimming pool noodle over the tow rope at the boat end this helps keep rope from sinking and getting sucked into impellor also the noodle is fatter so again helps stop being sucked in also makes rope more visible
