kawasaki jet ski STX DI. NEED HELP, BROKEN "tank resanator"

well i have family coming form out of town, i need a quick fix,http://www.kawasakipartsnation.com/pages/oemparts?aribrand=KUS&gclid=COGS4Kq6pLECFWkCQAodlAMzcw#/Kawasaki/JT1100-C1_1100_STX_D.I._(2000)/MUFFLER(S)/JT1100-C1-2000/C19C1933E1140 part number 16181, it broke when riding, actually it came lose from the connecter and if im not mistaken starved the ski of water. making the exhaust get hot, it melted the tank resonator flooding the ski with water, what im saying is i can order the part but i wont get it for a few days but can i replace the regulator just with a pvc pipe for a day? im sure it serves the same purpose. Let me know what you think!!!
