Hey guys ... just some simple questions ...

1) I like a clean engine compartment, but i have noticed that there are always some dirty spots here and there in the engine compartment after a day on the watter. I hate that 'greasy oil' look ... How do you guys clean the engine 'room'? Any tips or trics? Clean with a petrol?

2) And i have read a lot about bad connections and fuse probs ... is it ok to spray WD 40 all over all the electric components (connectors, fuses, ...)? Or is there another product or spray to protect all the electric components from corrosion?

3) As i'm trying to fix my carbs setting (wet sparks, bad starter, ... ), would it be advisable also to clean the rave valves? And if so ... is it an easy job for a 'beginner' or is it rather something for the advanced mecanics?

Thanks for the replies ... Such a shame that i'm probably the only Sea-Doo enthousiast in Belgium ...

1) A couple times a year, I use castrol super clean. It's bio safe. Just spray everything down, and hose it out very well. Tip the boat back, and let it drain out the plugs in the transom.

2) No. Do not use WD40 on the electrical. It is slightly conductive, and it can eat some plastics. It's good for an emergency to dry or displace the water on ignition parts... but it's not a solution for every day. There are a few spray, electrical contact water sealers. I don't use them, so I don't know they names off the top of my head. Any boat shop should have them.

3) You can clean your RAVE's by yourself. They are easy to get out.

Good luck
