Ok guys finally got a seadoo! Search is over, for now... Gotta fill the empty space on the double trailer with something... haha

For now I just need some help getting started, we hooked the ski up to a batt and it cranked over, had very old gas in it so I didnt want to drag it all through, but Im sure the carbs need a cleaning.

I was going to hit local store and pick up some oil, prob going to premix so I will eliminate the oil injection for safety. Going to wash it up fisrt then get started on the basic motor stuff, clean out gas, etc...

Any tips for me guys? I'll post some pics soon

Looks like it has the grey fuel lines, gotta change, also I figure I need to clean out the gas tank, is there any way to clean it without removing the engine???

Hooked up batt, connected lanyard, got a couple of beeps, info center powers up, 150hrs, wont really turn motor over, holding button it bumps, bumps like its trying to crank, pulled plugs, look kinda dirty, came out easy, motor spins great without plugs.

not sure why this is?

Also there is a little switch under the front hood, 3 position, 1 momentary position, what is this?

you can use a hanger and rap/tape a rag to it, and fish it around inside the tank to clean. The motor "bumping" is probably do to the battery not fully charged. Get a new one or have it load tested, and while in engine compartment, inspect ALL the cables/grounds.

As for the switch under the hood...? Dont believe its a "factory" dooing. Shoot pic if possible, or trace where the wires are coming/going from it.

Ok, it was the battery out of my truck 2005 model but had good performance till I took it out a few months ago, 12.5 volts

The switch goes to the bildge pump, just traced it, works good too, there seem to be two black scupper things with hoses running up and then down to the where the jet pump is, maybe a self bailer of some sorts?

Sounds good on the rag in the tank, really didnt want to pull motor..

pretty stoked VTX works, gotta fix button, down button cover is gone but up and down works,

just going to clean the inside of the hull to make working easier,

I guess I should pull the carbs and clean them with a carb cleaner spray? Any carb cleaner from auto store be ok?

yup, any carb cleaner will work. Sounds as though, you got a GREAT ski for a AWESOME price.....IMO, i'd use the oil pump.

Yeah thanks man! 800 bucks, looks good so far.

I think I will use the oil pump for now too, im in the process of pulling the carbs, so I might get new gaskets for them to sit on, thanks for the help!

hopefully get some pics on here, any advice on waxing it? I have some 3M I use on the boat, I guess Ill try that.

Pretty much have all the fuel lines replaced as of now, hard to get to the vent lines and the line that runs to the outside on the starboard side, not sure what that one is? Is it mainly just important to replace all the lines or just the main lines?

Also should I put some oil in the cylinders before I crank it first or just pour some in the gas tank for the first start up? I am going to use the oil pump too instead of premix from what I have been picking up, most of the probs were from lack of care?

just the main ones, bud. The 3 on the fuel selector valve, going to/from the tank, then 1 to the filter. Then the one from filter to mag carb. Replace the 1 "bridge" line between the carbs, and the 2-return lines off the carbs to the "Y" fitting. You can leave the return line from that "Y" fitting back to the tank and leave the vent line/s...

Cool man, yeah got all those done, even the return from the carbs (already did it) replacing the oil lines too and the tiny lines coming off the oil pump heading back, also the scupper or bilge lines, just gotta clean out the tanks, put in the new seals and oil in the jet pump and BAAM!!! oh need a new choke cable... oh well...

I'm wanting to replace the oil line that goes down below the engine from the oil tank but it doesnt seem like I can reach it, I may just have to leave this guy like it is, seems ok just dirty as hell..
