Thanks for the help

I am planning on taking my speedster from 7000 ft elevation to 2000 ft lake. Is there a jetting guide or anything to go on?

For watercraft... there isn't a hard guide for re-jetting. The official "High Altitude" kit from seadoo was a lower pitch impeller to compensate for the lower power.

At 7000', I would think that you will need to drop the main jet by at least 2 steps. But... go out and ride first, and see how it runs. But, since we run "Regulator" carbs... they have a tendency of compensating for the lower air volume.

Since I'm going from high to low elevation, I'm hesitant to "Try it" for fear of leaning the engine out too much. Maybe I'll go up a size or two to be safe. Any idea what the "factory", and I assume sea level jet size was for the '96 speester engines?

Sorry... I read it backward. I thought you were going up to 7K ft.

OK... if that boat was prep'ed for high altitude... then it's a little easier. I would open the high screws at least a 1/4 turn... and then go out for a ride. That will add the equivalent to 2 to 3 jet sizes bigger. Then, you can add, or remove fuel, using the high needles as needed.

That's way easier. I'm familiar with the high screws, but never changed teh "high needles" before. Is that the internal jet needle which requires me to open the carb to change?

Sorry... lost in translation. the external adjustments are "Needle screws." SO... sometimes I say... "adjust the high needle"... and sometimes I say... "adjust the high screw." And finally... you may even see them reffed to as the "Needle jet" on these carbs. (but that's not 100% correct)

Right now... they are probably closed (relying only on the main jet for fuel) so... you can open the high screw to add fuel.
